Description

Work consists of replacing eight to ten blocks of residential water mains in the area of New York Avenue and Alt- US-19 (Palm Harbor Boulevard). The existing mains are composed of old galvanized and thin Schedule 20 PVC pipe. The new replacement mains shall be 2- inch and 6-inch high density polyethylene (HDPE) and Ductile Iron Pipe (DIP) in accordance with the Pinellas County Utilities Material Specifications Manual latest revision. The work also includes the addition of three fire hydrants. Replacement water mains shall be installed by horizontal directional drill (HDD) or in open cut trench. The exception being two (2) locations where the proposed 2-inch mains shall be installed by horizontal directional drill (HDD) only under Alt-US-19, State Road 595.
