| Description | PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This project consists of work associated with fabrication of arrestor machinery, rehabilitation of fender booms, and rehabilitating the ship arrestors on the Poe Lock located in Sault Sainte Marie, Michigan. The Poe Lock will be required to remain in service during construction. The rehabilitation and installation of spare fender booms include repairs and installation of heat shields, placing existing fender booms on-site, removal and disposal of associated parts and components such as brake cylinders, bollards, quadrants, wire rope, etc. Rehabilitation also includes the removal and disposal of existing rolling segment buildings housing the boom rolling segment and buildings made with asbestos containing wall panels and fabrication, testing, and installation of new arrestor machinery. There will be two optional contract line items for this project. The majority of the installation work is required to occur between January 15 – March 25. |
