Description

The purpose of this project is to rehabilitate Bridge No. H-0024 Stafford Road over Deer Creek located in Susquehanna State Park. The existing bridge is a three span continuous steel beam bridge built in 1950. Bridge No. H-0024 is located in northern Harford County, Maryland between Darlington and Havre de Grace, approximately 3.3 miles southeast of the intersection of Conowingo Road, US 1 and Darlington Road, MD 161 (ADC Map 13, Grid E7). The scope of this project includes, but not limited to, the following: a. Maintenance of traffic, including providing, maintaining and removing the temporary detour signs. b. Remove the entire bridge superstructure. c. Removal of portions of the existing substructure elements and rehabilitate (i.e. Concrete Crack/Spall Repairs, Reconstruction for Bearing Pedestals and Installation of FRP as noted on contract plans). d. Construct new superstructure. The proposed superstructure will be composed of a three span 220 feet long (center to center abutment bearings) continuous steel beam bridge with a reinforced concrete bridge deck. e. Reconstruction of approximately 290 feet of approach roadway including grading, paving and other miscellaneous items, including sediment and erosion control, grading with topsoil and turfgrass establishment and planting of trees.
