Description

Description: The work includes furnishing of all materials and equipment and performance of the following work, according to the Plans, Specifications and Contract Documents (PS & CD). The project is LRIP funded, and consists of the roadway reconstruction of E Centralia St, from Lincoln St (STH 67) to the east side of the I-43 overpass. The work includes complete roadway reconstruction, including watermain with hydrants and laterals, water valves, hydrants, storm sewer, sanitary sewer and laterals, interior lead service replacement, replacement of curb & gutter and sidewalks, manhole/catch basin/inlet/water valve box adjustments, excavation common, aggregate base, asphaltic driveways, geogrid, landscape restoration, traffic control, guardrail removal and replacement, new street signage, pavement marking, and erosion control, among other items. Included with this bid are two mandatory Alternate Bids, one the includes asphaltic pavement for the finished roadway and one that includes concrete pavement for the finished roadway. Major work items for the Base Bid and approximate quantities include: 18,500 SY of asphaltic surface removal, 6,000 SF of concrete sidewalk, 3,300 feet of storm sewer pipe, 1,000 feet of sanitary sewer and lateral pipe, 4,500 feet of watermain pipe, hydrants, and landscape restoration. Major work items for Alternate Bid #1 and approximate quantities include: 5,500 tons of HMA pavement, 16,000 CY of excavation common, 24,000 tons of aggregate base (1 1/4 & 3 inch), and 8,700 feet of concrete curb & gutter. Major work items for Alternate Bid #2 and approximate quantities include: 16,000 SY of concrete pavement, 15,000 CY of excavation common, 19,000 tons of aggregate base (1 1/4 & 3 inch), and 8,700 feet of concrete curb & gutter. A Bidders qualification statement form will be issued with the Bid Documents. The Bidders Qualification Statement form must be completed and submitted online along with the bid submittal. No bids will be accepted from any Bidder who has not submitted a Bidders Qualification Statement form. Contractors who have submitted prequalification statements to the City of Elkhorn, for this calendar year and for work specific to this project, shall state this on their Bidders Qualification Statement form and prequalification forms will be reviewed. The Owner reserves the right to reject the bid of any Bidder who has been determined to be unqualified. All Bids shall be accompanied by Bid Security in the form of a Bid Bond, payable to the City of Elkhorn, in the amount equal to five percent of the bid. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive or not waive any informality in the bids received and to accept any proposal, which they deem most favorable to the interests of the Owner.
