New Portable Classrooms Highcrest Elementary School

Work includes the demolition of the existing modular classroom building and the associated building connector. New work consists of the addition of a new modular classroom building and a new building connector connecting to the existing school corridor. The addition is compromised of 2 classrooms and a connector. The roofing system will be an EPDM low slope system. The pre-manufactured building will be set on a concrete pier footing system. The building connector will be constructed on a combination of a concrete pier footing system and cast in place concrete foundation system. A new metal roof edge, gutters, and downspouts will be installed as part of the roofing system at the connector and the modular building. The pre-manufactured building will consist of fiber cement siding and trim, vinyl sliding windows, hollow metal doors, interior finishes as scheduled, acoustical tile ceiling systems. Packaged HVAC units will be installed for each of the classrooms. Sprinkler systems, electrical systems and fire alarm systems will be extended from the existing building to the new building per current code requirements. Re-grading, walkways and landings will be required at the new accessible exits from the connector and the stairs from the modular building. Sitework includes erosion control, tree protection, wetlands protection, lay down and stockpile areas, site access, security & fencing. Wood stair construction for the exit from each classroom will be an Alternate Bid.
