Description | As designed, the proposed building occupies an approximately 34,000 square-foot footprint, with a partial 2nd floor for a total building area of 42,700 square-foot. The building functions will be divided as follows, 18,500 square-foot for administrative purposes (10,500 square-foot on the 1st floor, 8,000 square-foot on the 2nd floor), 9,500 SF for dining facilities (all on the 1st floor), and 9,000 square-foot for non-emergency medical services (all on the 1st floor). An additional 5,700 will be used for common spaces (5,000 square-foot on the 1st floor and 700 square-foot on the 2nd floor); mechanical and electrical rooms, loading dock, stairways/elevators, and the main entrance hallway. The Work includes the construction of a complete and usable new facility as designed with foundations, exterior walls, roof, interior framing, flooring, walls, and ceiling. Construction includes all interior and exterior treatments with energy efficient, impact resistant doors and windows. The construction also includes but is not limited to complete electrical, plumbing, natural gas, information technology, and HVAC systems; fire alarm/detection & suppression systems; a lightning protection system; base alert and communication systems; security systems; and facility-specific treatments (i.e., administrative, food service, and non-emergency medical) in accordance with all applicable codes. Exterior supporting facilities include connections to existing utility infrastructure, including but not limited to natural gas, potable water, sewer, and electrical services; installing all necessary communication infrastructure, including coordinating integration of communication, alarm, and security systems into the Base's existing systems; site-civil construction; parking facilities; and landscaping. All work shall incorporate sustainable design concepts in compliance with federal requirements for high performance and sustainable buildings and all mandated anti-terrorism/force protection requirements.
