Dunloggin Middle School Renovation And Addition - E1049 - Howard County Public School System

A project to expand educational program spaces with 97 seats of new capacity and renovate the existing facility. This project calls for an expasion of the educational program spaces and renovation of the existing facility. The renovation will include a complete systemic renovation of the existing building including new electrical, mechanical, plumbing, technology, roofing and life safety systems. The 97 seats of additional classroom space and core infrastructure space will allow the building to operate effctively at the larger capacity. Interior spaces will be reconfigured, new finishes provided, accessibility improved, and new spaces added as required to bring the facility into compliance with renovation specifications. The complete scope of this project is defined by the BOE approved construction documents (CD) brochure (see Policy 6020 for complete description of process) and any change orders approved subsequent to submittal of the CD brochure. A 2008 facility assessment of middle schools concluded that Dunloggin Middle School has a 13.8 percent deficiency of educational program area of the 19 middle schools operating at that time. As of July 05, 2022, this project is currently in the FY 2023-2032 CIP . Funding for this project is allotted in the city's capital improvement plan for construction Fy 2024. A firm timeline has not been established; however, construction is scheduled for Fiscal Year 2024. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
