Asbestos Testing

Sealed bids must be marked on the outside of the envelope "Attention: Alex Ellison Code Enforcement Asbestos testing bid" This work shall consist of periodic asbestos testing within the corporate limits of the City of Bluefield. Asbestos testing contract will be valid until 6-30-2023 as needed. Inspectors must provide proof of their State of West Virginia and City of Bluefield business licenses as well as Asbestos inspector certification from the West Virginia Office of Environmental Health Services. Inspectors will provide a flat rate price per property and will supply their own equipment. Bids will be awarded based on the lowest responsible bidder. The successful bidder shall: 1. Take all required samples of SACM in each residence. 2. Bring all samples gathered to the Code Enforcement Office to be submitted for testing after signing chain of custody sheet. 3. Be available to answer any questions that shall arise from Code Enforcement, demolition contractor or WV state agency. 4. Work will be given to awarded inspector on an as needed basis.
