Wayfinding Signage

Design services to develop standards for exterior greenway trail wayfinding. Dakota County’s greenway vision suggests 200 miles of regional greenway trails. To date, approximately 1/4 of this system is constructed and operated by Dakota County. This project is intended to develop a comprehensive family of wayfinding signs, typical design details, and wayfinding standards for the Dakota County greenway trails. The overall goal is to develop wayfinding standards that supports user’s locational awareness; identifies points of interest; increases awareness of trail etiquette and safety; and creates a trail design signature with branding. Additionally, the County’s outcome for this work is to develop a contemporary, inclusive and easy-to-understand and experience greenway system. The effort will build on and improve existing Dakota County Greenway wayfinding design standards and be compatible with the existing Greenway Design Guidelines and the Dakota County Parks Forever Wild Brand Manual.
