Roosevelt Elementary School Exterior Painting Project

It is the intent of this contract to provide a fully finished exterior upgrade to all buildings on the existing Roosevelt Elementary School campus at the Lynwood Unified School District. Numbers shall be stated in both words and figures where required in the bid forms; conflicts between a number stated in words and in figures are governed by the words. Partially completed Bid Proposals or Bid Proposals submitted on other than the bid forms included herein are non-responsive and will be rejected. Any document submitted with a Bid Proposal which is not complete, accurate and executed, as required by each document, will result in the Bid Proposal being deemed non-responsive. All Bid Proposals shall be submitted before the latest date/time for submitting Bid Proposals (See Notice to Contractors). Bidders are solely responsible for timely submission of Bid Proposals to the District at the place designated in the Notice to Contractors. Each Bid Proposal shall be accompanied by Bid Security in the form of: (i) a certified or cashiers check made payable to the District or (ii) a Bid Bond, in the form and content included with the Contract Documents in an amount equal to Ten Percent (10%) of the Bid Proposal amount, inclusive of the price(s) proposed for additive Alternate Bid Items, if any. A Bid Proposal submitted without the required Bid Security is non-responsive and will be rejected. If the Bid Security is a Bid Bond, the Bidder's Bid Proposal shall be deemed responsive only if the Bid Bond is issued by an Admitted Surety Insurer under Code of Civil Procedure 995.120 in the form and content included herein, duly completed and executed (with notary acknowledgements) on behalf of the Bidder and Surety. Bid Security shall be submitted as set forth in the Call for Bids. The District reserves the right to reject any and all Bid Proposals or to waive any irregularities or informalities in any Bid Proposal or in the bidding. Bid Proposals shall not be withdrawn by any Bidder for a period of Sixty days (60) days after the opening of Bid Proposals. During this time, all Bidders shall guarantee prices quoted in their respective Bid Proposals. Last day to submit BID questions. Surface preparation and re-finishing of all portable building walls, trim, etc. 1.11. Paint existing wood skirting at metal access ramps to match wall finish as specified. 1.13. Protect 3-dimensional letters of the school name to leave unpainted. Prepare all painted metallic elements to receive high performance architectural grade paint. surface, preparation and re-painting of all exposed wood soffit and framing, including exposed wood decking. Preparation and re-finishing of existing covered walk, (columns, beams, supports, trim, fascia, underside of metal deck, etc.) Preparation at building foundations against landscaped areas to prepare for a complete paint coverage. The attached photographs and specifications are intended to give a general representation of the exterior elements of the buildings only and to give the contractor a basic understanding of the overall scope. Preparation and re-finishing of all exposed metal columns, handrails, guardrails, brackets, decorative metal elements, etc. galvanized metal handrails/guardrails remain unpainted. Surface preparation and re-finishing of all exterior plaster walls, soffits, columns, fascia, gutters, downspouts, painted surface mounted conduit, painted data and electrical boxes etc. with a new paint system. Preparation and re-finishing of all metal and wood window frames (exterior surface only), aluminum framed windows and frames are not included in the scope of work including the storefront at 2-story building I.
