| Description | The VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System (VAPHS) has a requirement for lawn fertilizer and weed control, and landscaped bed, parking lot, sidewalk and curb weed control treatment services at two campus locations. Each campus has both lawns and beds/lots/sidewalks/curbs that require treatment. The Contractor shall provide all personnel, equipment, tools, supervision and other items necessary to maintain a healthy and weed free lawn and weed free areas. - University Dr. C, Pittsburgh, PA 15240 – 1.1 acres of lawn, 13 ornamental beds, sidewalks and parking lots. - H.J. Heinz Medical Center, 1010 Delafield Rd., Pittsburgh, PA 15215 – 17 acres of lawn, 46 ornamental beds, sidewalks and parking lots. The Contractor shall perform an effective commercial fertilizer and weed control treatment application program. The treatment program shall be based on treatment regimens common to the region. Both pre-emergent and post-emergent weed treatment applications should be conducted, and be designed to kill both selective and non-selective weeds. Lawn and ornamental bed vegetation control treatments shall occur in late Spring and early fall to promote a healthy lawn. and control weeds. The Contractor shall use fertilizers and herbicides appropriate for promoting a healthy lawn and controlling weeds common to the region. All fertilizers and herbicides shall be applied in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions. Any required soil testing shall be the responsibility of the Contractor. The Spring, Summer and Fall weed treatments shall include all pavement cracks, landscape beds, rock beds, gravel areas and all other areas with unwanted vegetation. | ||
