Description

The City of Winston-Salem has the need to install Drainage Repairs & Trail Improvements for a 4.7 acre Park in the neighborhood of West Salem located at 700 Granville Drive. The project summary is to add new drainage swales, storm drainage structures and piping, repairs to existing slopes, asphalt trails and river stone. More specific work includes to replace & repair asphalt paths for 10' wide central service vehicle access and existing 6' wide asphalt trails, new curbing, repairs to historic arched stone bridges, repairs to existing gazebo and concrete walks, provide ADA access, install site lighting, tree removal and limbing up, regrade and add soil amendments of meadow mix and permanent seeing for improved vegetation management. The purpose of this conference is to allow interested bidders to observe the existing conditions, to summarize the scope of work involved and to explain the City's Minority and Woman Owned Business Enterprise (M/WBE) goals and program related to this project. Staff and designer will be present to answer questions. M/WBE subcontracting goals are 16% MBE, 10% WBE. Both percentages must be met in order to be determined to have met the goals. For technical questions regarding this project, please submit questions in writing to Darren Redfield at darrenmr@cityofws.org for response to all by addendum. End of Question and Substitution Period is 5:00 PM, August 3, 2022. Anticipated construction start mid-October 2022 with a duration of 7 months (245 calendar days).
