Goose Pasture Tarn Dam Rehabilitation

Demolition of an overtopping reinforced-concrete service spillway and adjacent overtopping roller-compacted concrete emergency spillway. Replacement of the demolished spillways with a single overtopping reinforced concrete spillway. Construction of a reinforced concrete cutoff wall beneath the new spillway crest that extends to the left and right of the new spillway. Construction to replace the existing low-level outlet works intake, gate, stem wall and control house, and lining the 30-inch-diameter, RCP low-level outlet conduit with a cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) liner. Replacement of a section of the existing water treatment plant (WTP) intake pipe with a new intake, fish screen, concrete-encased steel WTP pipe, WTP pipe vault, knife gate, and ductile iron pipe (D.I.P) section. Construction of a temporary 96-inch-diameter left bypass pipe for reservoir diversion, including an intake with a temporary trash rack, and a concrete-encased section that will remain following construction. Raising the dam crest by 2.6 feet to increase the discharge capacity of the new spillway. Construction of a drainage system that includes a subdrain system beneath the new spillway, a chimney/toe drain system beneath the downstream slope of the dam, and a relief drain system below the downstream slope near the right abutment. Earthwork including excavations for the planned structures and drainage system, and placement and compaction of zoned embankment dam materials.
