Description

The purpose of this contract is to repair storm drainage systems where partial or complete failures have occurred. The repair work will include, but not be limited to, the repair or complete replacement of pipes, drainage structures, damaged concrete curb/sidewalk/gutter/etc, and associated distressed pavement patching. Some of the drainage system failures have resulted in cave-ins/sinkholes of the pavement areas, sidewalk, curb, and/or landscaped areas near the drainage systems. In addition to the repair work, the Contract may include installation of new drainage systems or additional components to existing systems as requested by the Engineer. The work shall be performed on the pipe systems, drainage inlets, curbs, structures, or pavement. Follow other incidental construction in accordance with the location, notes and details shown on the plans, and as directed by the Engineer. All work on this contract must be complete within 730 Calendar Days. Extensions of contract time due to weather are specified in the Standard Specifications Section 108.7F, weather days. The Department's intent is to issue a Notice to Proceed for work to start on or about February 13, 2023. Questions regarding this project are to be e-mailed to the above address no less than six business days prior to the bid opening date in order to receive a posted response. Please include the Contract number in the subject line. Questions and responses are posted at Electronically. The date of the final posted Questions and Answers document must be entered on the submitted Certification Form. Each proposal must be accompanied by a deposit of either surety bond or security for a sum equal to at least 10% of the amount bid. DelDOT to include a performance-based rating system for contractors. The Performance Rating for each Contractor shall be used as a prequalification to bid at the time of bid.
