Description | The City of Port St. Lucie desires to obtain proposals from qualified individuals, firms, and legal entities relative to the Naranja Low Pressure & Force Mains Improvements - Phase III. The Contract period is estimated at two hundred and ten (210) calendar days with no renewal options. It is the intent of the City to enter into a unit price contract with one (1) qualified Contractor to provide all the labor, supervision, equipment, machinery, tools, materials, permits, transportation, utilities, testing services and other incidentals required to complete the work in accordance with the Contract Documents. The Contractor is responsible for the restoration of all areas affected by construction activities to existing conditions or better. The Contractor must have all required licenses and certifications necessary to perform this work. The approved license for this work includes a State of Florida General Contractor License and Underground Utility License. A copy of said certification is to be submitted with the Bid Documents. It is the Contractor's responsibility to verify with the City of Port St. Lucie Building Department that their current license allows them to perform this work prior to submitting a bid. Scope of Work The work is generally described as follows: A new force main replacement and extension along Prima Vista Blvd from its intersection with NE Naranja Avenue to west of the intersection with NE Sandia Drive. The Project entails the installation of approximately 2,450 linear feet of new 6-inch force main along Prima Vista Blvd. starting at NE Naranja Avenue and ending west of Sandia Avenue. The eastern leg of the force main (800 feet) will replace an existing force main and connect to a dry force main (320 feet) located in front of the Wawa convenience store at the intersection of Prima Vista Blvd. and SE Floresta Dr. To the west of the dry force main, approximately 1,300 linear feet of 6-inch force main extension will be constructed along Prima Vista Blvd. to connect to an existing 8-inch force main located downstream of PSLUSD's Lift Station NP-01. The project will be constructed by horizontal directional drill except for the required connections at the ends of the project and connections of the drill lengths, which will be installed by open cut. An approximate 200 linear foot section of bypass will be constructed from the proposed force main to an existing gravity manhole along SE Sandia Dr., which will be valued for use in emergencies. This project is to include all fittings, valves, appurtenances, and pipe associated with the installation of the horizontal directional drill in addition to all fittings, valves, appurtenances, and pipe associated with the open-cut installation of the C-900 PVC force main, connections to the existing force mains, grouting and abandoning in place existing force mains, and obtaining of any required permits. All work shall be in accordance with the Technical Specifications and Construction Plans prepared by Holtz Consulting Engineers, Inc. consisting of pages 1-8 (Attachment A). 21-101 Bid Bond : 5% of the total contract amount |
