City Hall Ludlow Street Vault Roof Slab Replacement and ADA Access (Open Market)

This project consists of full depth replacement of the Ludlow Street vault roof slab, which also serves as the section of section of sidewalk along Ludlow Street. The structure is a split slab with an approximately 8” structural slab waterproofed with a hot applied polyurethane membrane protected by an approximately 5” topping slab. Existing MELP (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing) within the vault will need to be adequately protected, relocated, supported, etc., assume that all equipment needs to remain in service throughout the duration of construction with the exception of lighting within the vault area which can be temporarily removed from service during construction and reinstalled at the end of the project. Existing beams and foundation walls will need to be shored. Existing beams will be encased and enlarged. Existing exterior fall protection railings at window wells will be replaced with similar, architectural railings. ADA access will be provided at the Ludlow Street entrance to City Hall as part of this project which will include construction a new ramp and landing in front of the existing entrance and leveling a portion of the interior stairs and installing stairs and installing a new ADA lift. Selected structural repairs within the vault are also included including overhead and vertical concrete patch repairs at beams, columns, and walls.
