FY 21 Guardrail Weedeating Contract

The City of Asheville has approximately 29,000 feet of guardrail in 153 sections. Weedeating will involve the trimming of all grass in front of the guardrail and a 1 foot wide area behind the rail and removal of vegetation from the rail. The contract also calls for the removal of selected trees/bushes that have grown through the guardrail. Only trees less than 6 inches in diameter at breast height will be removed. No trees/bushes shall be removed without City approval. A list of guardrail sections can be found included in this document. Two cycles of weedeating is requested during the life of the contract: One in December of 2020 and one in June of 2021. The contract will expire on June 30, 2021.
