The City of Stockton encourages local Stockton firms to bid this project and the City encourages bidders to use local Stockton firms as subcontractors. Accordingly, the Local Business Preference Ordinance applies to this project. This project is subject to the requirements of t he City's Local Employment Ordinance. Please see the website noted above for further information. All bidders shall be licensed under the provisions of Chapter 9, Division 3 of the Business and Professions Code of the State of California. The Contractor shall possess a valid Class "A" license at the time the bid is submitted and retain the license through the duration of the project. Failure to possess the specified license shall render the bid as non-responsive. The successful Contractor shall obtain a City of Stockton business license prior to contract execution and retain the license through the duration of the project. Bidders are hereby notified that the successful bidder and any subcontractor under them shall pay prevailing wage rates in accordance with the State of California Department of Industrial Relations. A contract will be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder as defined in the Stockton Municipal Code; provided, however, that the City Council reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to re-advertise for bids or to provide for the work to be done by the City of Stockton. The successful bidder shall be required to furnish a Labor and Material Bond and a Faithful Performance Bond, each in the sum of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price. Said bonds shall be furnished by a company authorized to issue surety bonds in the State of California. On official forms furnished by City, said bonds shall be executed by the surety and contractor before or concurrently with the signing of the contract. |
