Samford Park - Soil and Sod Restoration of Main Lawn - Phase II

Remove existing soil at a depth of 3-3.5 inches and approximately 40,000 square feet of existing sod and replace it with new soil and Certified Tifway 419 Bermuda and Certified TifGrand Bermuda. The site limits will encompass only the southern half of lawn, east of the main walkway, stretching to the sidewalk bordering S. College St. Associated scope items include construction fence, erosion control, installation of new concrete bases for pedestrian lighting, demo and soil removal, adding new soil and sod, grading, root pruning, pre-plant fertilization and various other lawn improvements. The lawn will be constructed similarly to an athletics field to assist with stormwater issues and future maintenance concerns. There will be a need to protect existing interpretive plaques, existing Descendant Oaks, lighting and all hardscape surfaces. The scope will include the following: 1. Site fencing 2. Site demolition 3. Soil Removal 4. Laser Grading 5. Sod Installation 6. Root Pruning of Existing Trees 7. Tree Invigoration program and various other lawn improvements 8. Pedestrian Lighting Improvements
