Description

The City of Binghamton is soliciting a proposal for Structural Demolition and construction of temporary parking at 183 Water Street. This site is bounded by Water Street to the east, Henry Street to the north, Center Street to the west, and a retail department store (Boscov’s Department Store) to the south. The section of the project involves the demolition of an existing 4-story parking facility (Cedar Street Parking) on the project site. The scope of services to be provided by the selected Demolition firm includes the removal of the parking garage. Selective demolition of the structure above existing retail to remain. Floor over store only remains; floors above to be removed. The Demolition firm will expose the top of all existing pile caps for future testing. The firm will oversee the construction of temporary parking facility to be located in Water Street. The scope specifically includes the following services and deliverables: Demolition. Construction of Temporary Parking: The firm will provide a cost for the preparation and installation of temporary parking in Water Street from Court Street to Henry Street. Scope of work to include: a. Removal of the existing median curb, backfill and patch with asphalt. b. Removal of existing pavement markings. c. Provide all necessary traffic controls and signage. d. Provide striping of temporary parking spaces. e. Restoration of the temporary parking to be done by Others.
