Professional Engineering Service for the Design of Fire Suppression System at Barbours Cut Terminal

The respondent is expected to provide the following services: 1. Design a fire suppression system formed by connecting an existing 500,000-gallon water tank to an existing 12” diameter fire water line along the wharves in the terminal to supply fresh water to existing hydrants. The source of fresh water to the tank is the City of Morgan’s Point water supply. 2. The scope also includes the design of mechanical, electrical y control elements, tank repairs, and the installation of updated safety features to be performed in the selected water tank. The list of repairs and updated safety features are described in a recent tank inspection report which will be available to the designer. 3. Prepare system model to confirm fire water flow and pressures throughout the system. 4. Provide all engineering services including preparation of drawings and specifications, calculations, submittal logs, estimate of construction costs, construction schedule, and basis of design. 5. Additional services are, proposal and construction phase services, preproposal, pre-construction, and other meetings; review of submittals and shop drawings; responses to Requests for Information (RFI); assistance with change orders; and documentation of as-built archives.
