Description | Guardrail Construction Maintenance and Repairs Scope Details Contractor(s) shall be responsible for providing all labor, tools, equipment, transportation, traffic control devices appurtenances, and materials, not specifically stated to be furnished by Metro, necessary for the removal, replacement, installation, and repair of guardrail, handrail and/or pedestrian safety rail. The cost of construction projects will be based on estimated quantities to complete the work and by using the line items unit price in the Construction contract. This work will be accomplished on an individual work order basis. The Contractor shall not be paid a mobilization cost for any work order. Specifications All repair work shall be done in accordance with the latest edition of MUTCD, the currently approved TDOT Standard Drawings for safety appurtenances, manufacturer's shop drawings, the latest edition of the Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction with all its supplements and modifications of the current Special Provisions, or Metro Standard Drawings/Details and Specifications. All guardrail installations shall coincide with TDOT Guardrail Standards S-PL-1 Safety Plan at Roadside Hazards, latest edition. Earth pads installed in conjunction with tangential energy absorbing guardrail terminals shall be constructed per Standard Drawings S-GRT-2P and S-GRT-2R or as directed by the Engineer. Materials used in the replacement or repair of damaged guardrail shall conform to the requirements of Section 909 of the Standard Specifications. Materials used to construct earth pads for tangential energy absorbing guardrail terminals shall conform to the requirements of Sections 303 and 903.05 of the Standard Specifications. Where there is conflict between TDOT standard drawings and specifications and NDOT technical details and specifications, NDOT technical details and specifications shall govern. Additionally, the Contractor(s) shall be responsible for ensuring compliance with any other related sections in the specifications described above that are relevant to the requirements of completing projects under this contract or as directed by the Engineer. Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) Percentage Goal: 11 % Woman Business Enterprise (WBE) Percentage Goal: 10 % Pre-Offer Meeting A pre-offer meeting is not applicable for this solicitation. Bonds A Payment and Performance Bond is required for a contract award exceeding $100,000. The awarded firm(s) shall submit a Payment Bond and a Performance Bond as a condition precedent to a contract or purchase order basis per project. Documentation of bonds shall be in a format acceptable to Metro. Inquiries All inquiries must be submitted by Monday, May 23, 2022 at 2:00PM Central Time using the online discussions feature of the iSupplier system. Questions will be answered formally via Amendment to the solicitation soon after the deadline for submitting questions. Offerors must clearly understand that the only official answer or position of Metro will be the one stated in writing by Division of Procurement staff. While Metro makes every attempt to assist suppliers with entering their offers, there is not sufficient time to trouble shoot functionality issues within one hour of the deadline for submission of offers. |
