Description

Provide labor, materials and equipment for the following types of services upon request of various county facilities: • Repair existing electrical components. • Change/move existing electrical components. • Create new electrical components. Services provided must meet the following requirements: • Respond to normal service requests within one (1) business day. A response is defined as a scheduled service call confirmed with requesting county employee. • Respond to urgent service requests within four (4) hours during a normal business day. A business day is defined Monday-Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. An urgent request is defined by the county as “risk of property damage or long term health risk”. • Respond to emergency service requests within one (1) hour, including evenings/weekends/holidays (after hours). An emergency is defined by the county as any condition(s) which is a threat to health, welfare or the safety of people and/or property or a condition that will affect an essential service(s) as determined by the County Project Manager or his authorized representative(s), and also applies in the event of a natural disaster or other catastrophic event when the County Administrator has declared a “State of Emergency”. Contractor shall provide the county with a twenty-four (24) hour emergency contact phone number. • All work areas will be left in a safe, and workable condition. It will be the responsibility of the contractor to leave the area in a clean, “broom swept” state. Contractor must remove all debris generated while making repairs, replacements, or installations. • Contractor shall ONLY repair, replace, upgrade or install work that is instructed. • If there are any questions regarding the work that is to be done, it will be the responsibility of the contractor to contact the designated county representative and request clarifications before proceeding. • It will be required that the contractor diagnose the problem, provide a material and labor quote to requesting/authorized county representative and make the necessary repairs as soon as possible upon county approval and receipt of valid PO and any required project exemption forms. Work totaling more than $500.00 will require Project Exemption forms to be completed and issued by the Purchasing department. Those forms must be issued prior to the start of the job. • Contractor shall be aware they will be performing work in occupied public offices that must stay open per State Laws. • In the event of accidental site damage, it will be the responsibility of the contractor to return the site to its original condition at no cost to the county. • If temporary repairs are needed due to an emergency, the contractor is instructed to do so at the direction of the county’s designated representative. • All permanent repairs must be made as soon as possible. This must be done within fourteen (14) days after the problem has been diagnosed and approval to proceed has been given. • Contractor is an independent contractor. The manner in which the services are performed shall be controlled by the contractor; however, the nature of the services and the results to be achieved shall be specified by the county. The contractor is not to be deemed an employee or agent of the county and has no authority to make any binding commitments or obligations on behalf of the county except as expressly provided herein. Any questions regarding this document must be submitted in writing to Lee Barrier at Lee.Barrier@sedgwick.gov by 5:00pm CDT, March 28, 2023.
