Description | The 1-15 corridor is the main transportation facility and primary commuter route that links the economic hubs along the Wasatch Front between Utah and Weber Counties. The objective of this project is to construct new Express Lanes on 1-15 (milepost 331) in Layton in north Davis County to Riverdale (milepost 340) in Weber County to better meet the needs of the commuters. The widening of 1-15 will primarily be accomplished by widening into the existing 1-15 median. This project also requires the widening of five sets (NB & SB) of bridges, deck replacements on four sets (NB & SB) of bridges, and 2 bridge replacements. This Project will connect approximately 80 miles of Express Lanes from Spanish Fork to Riverdale. The widened sections of 1-15 will be constructed with an HMA pavement section. The Project will also include pavement rehabilitation of the existing concrete pavement. Maintenance of Traffic is important to the Department. The Department will require 3-lanes remain open in each direction during peak hours. The project is planned to advertise in November of 2018 and the duration of construction is anticipated to cover two construction seasons in 2019 and 2020. | ||||||
