Description

3.1. Annual Maintenance. All fire extinguishers shall be inspected annually and subjected to applicable annual maintenance procedures in accordance with NFPA 10 (current edition). When performing annual maintenance, the contractor shall ensure, for each extinguisher, that: 3.1.1. It remains at its designated location and that there are no obstructions to access or visibility of the extinguisher; 3.1.2. Operating instructions on the nameplate are legible and facing outward; 3.1.3. Safety seals and tamper indicators are not broken or missing; 3.1.4. The extinguisher is at its proper gross weight as specified on the nameplate; 3.1.5. There is no obvious physical damage, corrosion, leakage, or clogging; 3.1.6. The pressure gauge reading is in the operable range; 3.1.7. Required labeling is in place; 3.1.8. All extinguishers are properly tagged in accordance with NFPAIO; and, 3.1.9. The extinguisher is DOT and OSHA compliant.
