RFP Design - Architect/Engineer (A/E) for Ekstrom Library Addition

The University of Louisville (UofL) is seeking a qualified planning, architectural, and engineering (A/E) team to develop and implement the design for an addition to Ekstrom Library on UofL's Belknap Campus. The selected A/E team will become a responsible member of UofL's professional team for programming, design, construction, and LEED certification, helping to assure the project is completed within budget, on schedule, and compliant with project program, university standards, academic accreditation requirements, mutually agreed upon sustainability goals, and applicable building codes. A/E teams submitting qualifications shall demonstrate compatible experiences in programming, planning, designing, and overseeing projects of similar building type and project scale, in collaboration with a with a construction estimator partner selected by UofL. A/E teams shall also demonstrate their capability to collaborate with a broad range of project stakeholders that will engage the team throughout all phases of the project's development. The method of contractor selection has not been determined at this time. The University of Louisville will accept questions regarding this RFP only if they are submitted by email no later than November 11, 2022 at 2:00PM Eastern Standard Time and are to be emailed to Carisa Robertson at Carisa.Robertson@louisville.edu. The anticipated total project cost is approximately $7M - $8M. Desired contract duration is December 1, 2022 - June 30, 2024. A subsequent additional contract may be established from this RFP process to run from July 1, 2024 - August 31, 2025 with all terms, conditions and pricing remaining the same. This will require a new contract be executed. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document.
