Description | As of August 15th, 2022, project was awarded to Dalke & Sons Construction, Inc. with an awarded amount of $3,494,890.00. The expected start date is November-December 2022. Rialto Unified School District ("District") is seeking sealed bids from qualified general contractors for work on the following public construction project ("Project"): Central Kitchen Cooler Upgrade. The general scope of the work shall include but not be limited to: 1. General Conditions. 2. Temporary Facilities. 3. Rent and place Interim Freezer & Cooler Metal Storage Containers. Remove once not needed. 4. Remove and replace fire sprinkler system within bulk walk-in freezer and cooler prefabricated structures. Handover sprinkler heads to District. 5. Remove and replace bulk walk-in freezer and cooler prefabricated structures with associated slab, footings, and steel pallet storage rack system. 6. Site Demolition. 7. Over Excavation and Compaction. 8. Trenching and backfilling for site utilities. 9. Export soils. 10. Remove and replace existing fan coil units within existing walk-in cooler inside existing warehouse. 11. Remove and reconfigure parking and accessible parking stall. 12. New chain link enclosure for new condenser unit. 13. Site Signage Each bid must be submitted with bid security as described in the Instructions for Bidders. In order to bid on the Work, a contractor must have a CSLB-issued contractor license with the following classification(s): B - General Contractor. Prequalification pursuant to Public Contract Code Section 20111.6 is required, as described in the Instructions for Bidders. The District prequalifies contractors on a quarterly or annual basis, so contractors must, upon submission of an applicable bid, already be on a District list of prequalified contractors. The award of the Contract will be based on the following method of determining the lowest bid: Base bid only. The Authorized District Officers for the Project are: (i) Angie Lopez, Agent: Facilities Planning Services, who is the primary District contact for purposes of the Project and who may be reached via telephone at (909) 421-7555; and (ii) Ricardo Salazar, Agent: Purchasing Services, who is the secondary District contact for purposes of the Project and who may be reached via telephone at (909) 820-6863. As described in the General Provisions, the successful bidder must provide a Performance Bond and a separate Payment Bond, each in an amount equal to 100% of the total Contract Price. Request for Clarifications Due: June 9, 2022, by 04:00 p.m. PST Questions regarding the contents of this Bid must be submitted via email to Ricardo G. Salazar at Purchasing@rialtousd.org. The Project is a "public work" that is subject, among other provisions, to Labor Code Sections 1720 through 1861, inclusive. As described in the Instructions for Bidders, each contractor and subcontractor must be registered with the DIR in accordance with Labor Code Section 1725.5, and bidders must provide evidence of registration for themselves and their subcontractors. Each worker on the Project must be paid not less than the applicable Prevailing Wages. A copy of the applicable rates of Prevailing Wages will be on file and available for review at the Place for Submitting Bids, and a copy will be posted at the Project Site. The Project is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the DIR. The successful bidder will be required to post all job-site notices required by DIR regulations and other applicable law. If so specified in the Special Provisions, the District will conduct a mandatory conference for the purpose of describing labor-law requirements. Substitution of securities in lieu of retention, pursuant to Public Contract Code Section 22300, will be permitted as provided in the General Provisions. As described in the Special Provisions, the District will withhold Retention in excess of five percent of each payment because the Project is substantially complex.
