Description | Major Construction Items, units and quantities are: 24 C.Y. REINFORCED CONCRETE 147 L.F. RAILING 1 UNITS AUTOMATIC DOOR OPERATORS 2 UNITS TOUCHLESS WIRELESS DOOR ACITIVATOR SWTICHES This project is for the construction of an ADA compliant ramp for The Municipal Building. Plans identify all areas of construction locations. All construction materials and execution shall follow the, "New Jersey Department of Transportation Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction, 2019" (NJDOT). Wherein this project occurs items that are listed as, "Americans with Disabilities Act" (ADA), ADA.gov and Public Right of Way Accessibility Guidelines (PROWAG), access-board.gov, these shall be the governing agencies and shall supersede NJDOT standards. Each Bidder will be required to furnish a Certified Check, Cashier's Check, or Bid Bond in the amount of 10% of the Total amount of the bid. Said check need not exceed the amount of $20,000.00 and should be made payable to the Township of Verona. In addition, each bid must be accompanied by a Consent of Surety issued by a surety company authorized to do business in the State of New Jersey, approved by the Mayor and Council, to the effect that it will furnish all bonds required by the Contract documents. Each Bidder who is a foreign corporation that is a corporation not chartered under the Laws of the State of New Jersey, but licensed to do business in the State of New Jersey, must submit with the bid, an affidavit duly executed by the President, Vice-President, or General Manager of the Corporation, stating in said affidavit that said affidavit that the corporation has, in accordance with the laws of the State of New Jersey, obtained a certificate authorizing it to do business in the State of New Jersey. The Mayor and Council of the Township of Verona reserves the right to delay the award of the Contract for thirty (30) days pending study of the bids, and to reject any and/or all bids and to waive defects or informalities in any bid in the best interest of the Township. The successful bidder shall be required to execute a Contract within ten (10) days of the award of the Contract by the Mayor and Council and to commence construction within SEVEN (7) days from the issuance of the "Notice to Proceed" and complete the project within Sixty (60) days from the issuance of the "Notice to Proceed." This Project is to be funded from an Essex County Community Development Grant. Bidders are required to comply with all relevant Federal and State Statutes, Rules and Regulations, including but not limited to the applicable provisions of Title VI of the Civil rights Act of 1964, as amended (42 USC 2000d-2000D-4a). Bidders are required to comply with the requirements for Affirmative Action and Equal Employment Opportunity contained in N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et seq. and N.J.A.C. 17:27. and the provisions of N.J.S.A. 10:2-1 through 10:2-4, the New Jersey Law against Discrimination, N.J.S.A. 10:5-1 et seq., the rules and regulations promulgated pursuant thereto, the State requirement for bidders to supply statements of ownership, N.J. S.A. 52:25-24.2, and State requirement for submission of the names and addresses of certain sub-contractors, N.J.S.A. 40A:11-16, and the Public Works Contractor Registration Act P.L. 1999, c238 and P.L. 2003, c91 and Business Registration of Public Contractors Act of P.L. 2004, c57. This proposal is being solicited through a fair and open process in accordance with the New Jersey Local Unit Pay to Play Law, P.L. 2004 |
