Chilled Water System Replacement

The scope of the project is to replace an existing water-cooled chiller system at MSUM’s Center for the Arts with a new air-cooled chiller system. This work would include the complete demolition of the existing cooling tower and condenser water piping system, as well as the existing chiller, and replacing it with a new air-cooled chiller. The predesign identified the need of a new 300-ton chiller, but this is to be verified by design team using Future Weather Files instead of historical weather files. Minnesota B3 requires the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, Fifth Assessment Report, 2014 prediction, RCP 8.5, 50th percentile out to 2040, which should be used for this project.
