Description | SCOPE OF WORK: The scope of this project is to modernize three existing elevators (1 hydraulic, 2 traction) at the Alabama Archives & History building. More specifically, the scope includes replacement of the existing elevator equipment and controls, refinishing of cab interiors (elevator cars to be left in place) and elevator lobbies/vestibules, the addition of new HVAC system in elevator machine rooms, replacement of unrated machine room and elevator shaft doors and modernization of electrical service equipment for elevator systems. The project will occur in two primary phases - Coley Wing and West Wing elevators in Phase 1, Main Brass elevator in phase 2. A cashier's check or Bid Bond payable to State of Alabama, Department of Finance- Division of Construction Management, in an amount not less than five (5) percent of the amount of the proposal, but in no event more than $10,000 must accompany the bid. Performance and Statutory Labor and Material Payment Bonds in the amount of 100% of the Contract Price will be required at the signing of the Contract. Drawings and Project Manual will be available for examination after June 05, 2023, at the offices of the Department of Finance, Division of Construction Management, 770 Washington Avenue, Suite 470, Montgomery, AL 36130-1150, with notification to Katie Williams (334) 353-0494; Offices of CMH Architects, Inc.; Bidders must call the Owner's or Architect's office at least 24 hours in advance to arrange a time to review the documents. Performance time: The project is a multi-phase project and is to be completed within 365 calendar days from Notice to Proceed. Liquidated damages apply to this project per the supplementary conditions. All questions regarding the Project are to be submitted in writing via fax or e-mail to CMH Architects, who will review and if appropriate then provide an answer by written addendum. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all the proposals and to waive technical errors if, in the Owner's judgement, the best interest of the owner will thereby be promoted. |
