Description

Deer Island Treatment Plant Clarifier Rehabilitation, Phase II. Contractor Category: Sewage and Water Treatment Plants; General Building Construction. Project will include rehabilitation of the gravity thickener tanks and replacement of equipment Contractor Qualification DCAMM Certificate Questions Close: 11/16/2022 02:00:00 PM Contract time- The Contract time is 1620 calendar days ; The liquidated damages amount is $3,875 per day 1. Demolish, furnish, install, and test all influent, effluent, and dewatering gates, stems, supports, operators, and stem tubes as indicated and specified for the primary clarifiers. There are a total of: three hundred eighty-four (384) 14-inch influent gates located in the influent channels of the primary clarifier batteries; forty-eight (48) 18-inch dewatering gates located at the lowest point of the clarifiers; four (4) 24-inch x 24-inch influent channel scum gates, and forty-eight (48) 36-inch x 60-inch effluent gates. The work shall also include repair of the Linabond PVC lining system behind the influent gate existing gate stem bearings and supports within the four (4) primary influent channels. 2. Furnish, install, and test influent knife gate valves, stems, supports, operators, and stem tubes as indicated and specified for the secondary clarifiers. There are a total of three hundred sixty (360) 12-inch influent knife gate valves to be located inside the clarifiers on the influent piping feeding each clarification zone. The existing influent gates in the three (3) influent channels shall remain. 3. Furnish, install, and test influent gates, stems, supports, operators, and stem tubes as indicated and specified for the Battery C secondary clarifiers. There are a total of seventy-two (72) 12-inch influent gates to be located inside the clarifiers on the downstream side of the wall thimbles for the upper clarification zone penetrations. The existing influent gates in the Battery C influent channel shall remain. 4. Demolish, furnish, install, and test all dewatering gates stems, supports, operators, and stem tubes as indicated and specified for the secondary clarifiers. There are a total of fifty-four (54) 18-inch dewatering gates located at the lowest point in each clarifier 5. Demolish, furnish, install, and test all scum gates, stems, supports, electric actuators, and stem tubes as indicated and specified for secondary clarifiers A & B influent channel. There are a total of six (6) 36-inch x 36-inch electrically actuated scum influent gates located in the influent channel of secondary clarifier Batteries A and B to remove scum from the influent channels. 6. Furnish new 316L stainless steel stop logs for the effluent channels in Primary Batteries A, B, and C. New stop logs shall utilize the existing stop log frames in the effluent channels. 7. Demolish, furnish, install, and test all primary effluent cross channel gate electric actuators, supports, and stem tubes as indicated and specified. There are a total of nine (9) electric actuators for the primary effluent cross channel gates that allow flow to pass from the primary clarifiers to the oxygen reactors. 8. Demolish, furnish, install, and test the entire channel air system including main 316L stainless steel header pipe, 316 SS header pipe supports within the influent channels, drop legs, valves, diffusers, and diffuser wall and floor supports as indicated and specified for the primary clarifiers. There is a main header pipe that runs the entire length of each of the four (4) influent channels, and there are two drop leg/valve/diffuser assemblies per clarifier for a total of ninety-six (96) assemblies per influent channel. 9. Furnish, install, and test three (3) diffuser drop legs in secondary clarifier Battery A influent channel as indicated and specified. 10. Demolish, furnish, install, and test all longitudinal and cross collector chain drive systems including motor, gearbox, jackshafts, bull sprockets, tensioning devices, bearings, torque device, stainless steel drive covers, and select drive chains (approximately 65% of the total drive chain quantity) for the primary and secondary clarifiers as indicated and specified. There are a total of two hundred four (204) longitudinal collector drive systems, and one hundred fifty-six (156) cross collector drive systems for the primary and secondary clarifiers. Drive chain replacement will include all of the primary clarifier drive chain and approximately 39% all of the secondary clarifier drive chain (approximately 65% of the total drive chain quantity). 11. Demolish, furnish, install and test all longitudinal and cross collector head shafts and idler (static) shafts for the primary clarifiers as indicated and specified. In each of the forty-eight (48) primary clarifier tanks, there are four (4) head shafts and twelve (12) idler (static) shafts associated with the longitudinal collector mechanisms; and one (1) head shaft and two (2) idler (static) shafts associated with the cross collector mechanism. 12. Demolish, furnish, install, and test all longitudinal and cross collection ancillary equipment including flights, wear shoes, and wear strips as indicated and specified. At the discretion of the Authority, a portion of this equipment in good condition shall be retained for spare parts. 13. Demolish, furnish, install, and test 6-inch glass lined ductile iron sludge piping in the primary clarifiers as indicated and specified. 14. Demolish the existing 10-inch stainless steel return sludge vent overflow piping in the Primary Cross Gallery. Furnish, install, and test 10-inch PVC piping to replace the existing, and re-route 10-inch vent drains to the primary effluent cross channel as indicated and specified. The 1-1/2" stainless steel vent drain located at the top of the vertical vent piping shall be replaced and rerouted from the adjacent catch basins to the process flow stream as shown on the Drawings. Demolish, furnish, install, and test 6-inch and 1-inch W3H piping and valves associated with the RSL vent overflow piping (similar routing to existing piping as indicated). 15. Demolish existing concrete hatches in each intermediate level of the primary clarifiers, and furnish, install, and test new FRP hatches as indicated and specified. There are a total of one hundred ninety-two (192) concrete hatches. 16. Repair concrete around hatches and odor control penetrations in the primary clarifiers as indicated and specified. 17. Repair exterior wall expansion joints and construction joints in the pipe chase running between primary clarifier Batteries B and C as indicated and specified. There are a total of five (5) expansion joints. 18. Repair delaminated sections of the existing Linabond PVC lining system within the Primary Batteries A, B, C, and D influent channels as indicated. 19. Replace the Linabond lining system across the expansion joints in Primary Batteries A, B, C, and D influent channels (typical of five (5) locations in each of the four (4) influent channels). 20. Install and test 120V receptacles and associated conduit and wire to power existing seasonal odor control fans around the perimeter of the primary and secondary clarifier operating decks as indicated and specified. There are a total of thirty (30) receptacles.
