Description | 1. The areas to be treated include Shrub/Trees between 3 feet to 14 feet tall and from 1” to 5” in diameter. 2. Contractors are to mow all vegetation from obvious road edge to extend 10 feet from road edge on both sides of designated roads, regardless if ditch is present or not. 3. Contractors must mow all vegetation within 8 inches of surface of ground. 4. The type of equipment preference would be equipment that is equipped with the capability of mowing, mulching, trimming etc. the areas that need to be treated. 5. Extended boom mowers will be sufficient for most of the areas that are to be treated. 6. Contractor will make sure all roads are clear of debris upon treating an area and moving forward on area of road they are working on and especially each evening before ending the days operation. 7. There will be no vegetation left in designated treated areas as it will be deemed incomplete and will have to be addressed before moving on to next area. The only exception to this stipulation is when contractor encounters >6-inch diameter stems, they will simply have to work around it. 8. All culverts encountered will have to be protected. If culverts are damaged the contractor will be responsible for replacement or repairs. Mowing is expected to be done in these locations but still not damaging them. 9. Roads and Fireline’s will be kept free from debris, any trees pushed over by weight of machines must be discarded in correct manner. 10. Equipment used should be able to chip or pulverize debris being treated as to leave the roads in an accessible and presentable condition to the public. 11. The mileage of roads potentially to be treated can be adjusted at any time during the project. 12. Gopher Tortoise burrows that might be in the treatable areas must be protected. Debris will be removed from the area to make the burrows accessible if debris should fall around or near burrows. |
