Description

The MDOT SHA hereby notifies all bidders that in regard to any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, minority/ disadvantaged business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this notice and will not be subjected to discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, ancestry, national origin, sex, age, marital status, sexual orientation, sexual identity, genetic information or disability in consideration for an award. Minority/ Disadvantaged business enterprises are encouraged to respond to this solicitation. On Federally assisted projects, the bidder's attention is called to the Standard Federal Equal Employment Opportunity Construction Contract Specifications (Executive Order 11246) which is a part of the contract proposal. All of these activities shall be done in accordance with Title VI of the 1964 Civil Rights Act, as amended. It is the goal of MDOT SHA that Disadvantaged and/or Minority Business Enterprises participate in all Federal Aid and State contracts, as applicable. Each contract will contain a specific participation goal. Counties: Washington Classification: G ($10,000,001 to $15,000,000) Funding: Federal F.A.P. Number: AC-NHPP-G-068-1(056)E Project work includes: -Replacement of Bridge Nos. 2107603 and 2107604 on I-68 over Creek Road The existing three span steel beam bridges have varying span lengths with an existing clear roadway of 38'-7". The proposed single span steel girder bridges have span lengths of 96'-0", with a proposed clear roadway of 40'-0". All new abutment construction will be supported on steel HP piling and micro piles. -There is 0.90 miles of upgrading for the I-68 approach roadways, which includes resurfacing of I-68, placement of new traffic barriers, stormwater management facilities, signing, and permanent pavement striping. -One lane of existing traffic in each direction on I-68 will be maintained at all times utilizing staged construction. A Pre-Bid Conference will not be held for this contract. Minimum wage rates for each Project, if applicable, have been pre-determined by law and are set forth in the Invitation for Bids (IFB). Bids must only be made upon the latest electronic proposal forms (and attachments) that are furnished by the Administration. In accordance with State Finance and Procurement Title 13 of the Annotated Code of Maryland, no bid, performance or payment bonds are required for bids less than $100,000.00. However, bids $100,000.00 and above will not be considered unless a Bid Security is submitted as outlined in the Invitation for Bids. Bid Security shall equal at least five percent (5%) of the total amount bid. Also, the successful bidder will be required to supply Payment and Performance Bonds for all Contracts in excess of $100,000.00.
