Description

As of December 8, 2021, this project has been tabled. The owner is re-evaluating how they would like to proceed. INVITED GENERAL CONTRACTORS ONLY MAY BID ON THIS PROJECT PER THE OWNER Direct all questions regarding this project to: Kyle Sandage (ksandagef-w.com) Farnsworth Group, Inc. 14225 University Avenue, Suite 110 Waukee, Iowa 50263 (515) 225. A. Bid Security will not be required. A Performance Bond, and Labor and Material Payment Bond will be required of the successful bidder. B. The Owner shall require the Bidder to whom a Contract is awarded to furnish to the Owner both Performance and Labor and Material Payment Bonds in the amount of one hundred (100%) percent of the contract price, covering the faithful performance of the Contract and the payment of all obligations arising thereunder, and the Bidder will further provide warranties as required by the specifications or general Conditions. C. The bonds shall be executed on the forms required by the Contract Documents (forms shall not be removed from the Contract Documents; Bidders may use copies of the bond forms included in the specifications). Accompanying each bond form shall be a "Power of Attorney" authorizing the attorney in fact to bind the surety company and certified to include the date of the bond. A. Bids shall be based on materials and equipment indicated in the bidding documents. No substitution will be considered unless written request is made at least 96 hours (excluding Saturdays, Sundays, or holidays) prior to the bid date. Requests received after this time will not be considered. B. Requests shall clearly describe the material or equipment for which approval is requested. Architect will research substitutions as to their acceptability. Request must include all data necessary to make comparison to that specified including material, construction and differences from that specified. To demonstrate acceptability, vaguely described product brochures or requests for blanket approval will not be considered. If the material or equipment is acceptable, approval will be made by an Addendum issued to all plan holders on record. Verbal approvals are not acceptable. It is the Owner's intent to award the Contract to the lowest responsible bidder, including full consideration of Alternates, and Unit Prices. The Owner reserves the right to make an award based upon its own best interests. B. Form of Contract, General Conditions of the Contract, and Performance Bond and Labor and Material Payment Bond as a basis of contract will be the latest edition of Documents A101, A201, and A310, as published by the American Institute of Architects. Contract and Bond forms shall be in three (3) copies. Bonds shall be delivered to Architect within 10 days of date of Notice to Contract Award. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any informality or irregularity in any bid received. The Owner reserves the right to reject a bid if the bidder failed to submit the required data with the bid, or if the bid is in any way incomplete or irregular.
