Description

The intent of this project is to renovate the interior and the exterior of Hangar 110 as well as to create new personnel parking, a new storm water management facility, and a new storm water retention system. As Hangar 110 has been designated as having historical significance, all work is to be accomplished in a manner that maintains the original "look" of the building—so far as it is reasonably possible. The work includes selective demolition, replacement of roofing materials, replacement of exterior panels, and replacement of exterior windows and doors (with exception of the hangar doors leading to the Flight line). The interior of the administrative and shop areas will be reconfigured and all new mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and telecommunications (except for the recently upgraded power supply) will be added. Work also includes the coordination of fire protection, and fire alarm systems. New hangar finishes will need to be chosen and installed. A new catwalk is to be built in the area above the ceiling in the hangar and the lean-to covered storage will be demolished, and the existing portable building removed from the site. A new storage building will be constructed at the location designated on the "for construction drawings". Site work will include new parking, storm water retention and utilities, gate relocation, additional fencing, and gate curbing. As portions of this building will be occupied during the performance of the work under this contract, it is imperative that, before any work begins, arrangements are made, with the Contracting Officer, for a sequence of procedure, means of access, and the space for storage of materials and equipment.
