Description

The courts will be replaced with hot mix asphalt (HMA) base course and a 36A limestone surface course. The basketball courts will have a total length of 125’ and a width of 110’. Contractor should field measure prior to submitting bid. 2.1. The City of Portage will perform the following before commencement of the project: 2.1.1. Remove existing basketball court at Oakland Drive Park 2.1.2. Remove existing basketball goals. 2.1.3. Add 6” of asphalt millings to the basketball court base. 2.1.4. Hire for court painting. 2.1.5. Reinstall new basketball goals. 2.1.6. Provide top dirt and grass seed restoration upon project completion. 2.1.7. Hire for fencing installation. 2.2. Contractor will fine grade and shape the asphalt milling base. 2.3. Contractor will compact the 6 inches of asphalt milling base. 2.4. Contractor will furnish, install, and compact the base course HMA layer to a thickness of 1.5” for a playing surface of 125’ x 110’. 2.5. Contractor will furnish, install, and compact the surface wear course with 36A limestone HMA to a thickness of 1.5” while ensuring a slope of 0.8-1.0% side to side to ensure proper drainage for a playing surface of 125’ x 110’. During the application of the surface wear course, the contractor will check for proper slope to ensure water ponding does not occur on the court surface.
