Description | Work of this proposed Contract comprises site development, remodeling, renovation, and demolition, including general construction, structural, mechanical, and electrical Work. B. Location: Boys and Girls Club of the Cedar Valley. 515 Lime Street. Waterloo, Iowa50702. This Project Consists of approximately 3,370 SF of renovation and vestibule addition. The project is taking old locker room space and converting it to child cubby temporary storage, admin space and a new toilet block. This project will also expand the existing elevator shaft to allow for an ADA elevator. Davis-Bacon Act. This project is covered by the Davis-Bacon Act and requires that all labor employed or working directly upon the site of the work shall not be paid less than the prevailing minimum wage rate determined by the U.S. Department of Labor. See the wage rate determination schedule included in the Project Manual. All bids must be accompanied by bid security payable to OWNER in an amount equal to at least 5% of the highest total amount including Add Alternates. The bid security may be in the form of a Certified Check, Cashier's Check or a bid bond executed by corporations authorized to contract as surety in the State of Iowa. Bid Security shall be in a separate envelope with the sealed bid and shall be forfeited to the Owner as liquidated damages in the event the bidder fails to enter into a contract and furnish a bond within ten days after bid has been accepted. No Bidder may withdraw their bid for at least thirty (30) days after the schedule closing time for the receipt of bids. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish and pay for satisfactory Performance Bond and Labor and Material Payment Bond in the amount of 100% of the Contract Price. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all proposals or to waive technicalities or irregularities and to accept any bid which will best serve the interests of the Owner. |
