Description | Centrifuge dewatering polymer for the biosolids (wastewater treatment sludge) produced from the City’s Water Resource Recovery Facility (WRRF). Dry, bead-type material is accepted; no liquid or powders will be considered. All polymers to be considered will be delivered to the Boulder WRRF in 2,000-pound super sacks. Bag dimensions shall be included with the bids. Boulder WRRF biosolids currently meet Table 3 with respect to metalsb (Exceptional Quality Biosolids, per State of Colorado Regulation 64), Class B with respect to pathogen destruction, vector attraction reduction by volatile solids reduction (VSR) of greater than 38% per the Van Kleeck method. Currently, the City processes between 1,700,000 and 2,000,000 gallons per month of two percent (2%) total solids biosolids. Pre-dewatered biosolids have been treated with anaerobic digestion, followed by the post aerobic digestion (PAD) process. All biosolids produced are processed in Alfa Laval high-toque, high-solids centrifuges. The City is currently using approximately 30-40 pounds of polymer per dry ton of biosolids dewatered. It is anticipated the City will purchase between 50,000 and 75,000 pounds of dry polymer in 2020. |
