Description | The work includes the furnishing of all labor, material and equipment necessary or required to complete all work set forth in these Specifications and shown on the Plans. Hydrant Removal 5 UN 8. 3/4 " Water Service, (including curb stop and box) 38 UN 9. 8" Gate Valve, Installation Complete 6 UN 10 In-Place Abandonment of Existing Water Main 1,800 LF 11. Contingency Allowance 5% AL 12. Concrete Cradle, if and where directed 1 UN 13. Concrete Encasement, if and where directed 10 LF 14. Utility Crossing, if and where directed 1 UN 15. 3/4 " Clean Stone, if and where directed 50 CY Plans, Specifications and forms of bid for the proposed work prepared by Richard A. Alaimo Engineering Associates, Municipal Engineer, have been filed in the office of said ENGINEER, at 2 Market Street, Paterson, New Jersey, and may be inspected by prospective bidders during the regular business hours. Bids must be made on the standard Proposal form in the manner designated therein and must be enclosed in a sealed envelope bearing the name and address of the bidder and the name of the project on the outside, addressed to the Borough of Wanaque, and must be accompanied by a Certified Check, Bid Bond or Cashier's Check drawn to the order of the Borough of Wanaque for ten percent (10%) of the total amount bid, provided said security need not be more than $20,000.00. All bid guarantees shall be accompanied by an executed consent from an approved surety company, licensed to conduct business in the State of New Jersey, agreeing to furnish the required Performance and Maintenance Bond upon the award of contract. The signed Proposal forms and bid security must be delivered to the place and on or before the hour named above. The accepted bidder must sign the contract within ten (10) days after the Notice of Award or forfeit his bid security. Bid securities will be returned to all but the three apparent lowest responsible bidders. All other bid securities will be returned within three days after awarding and signing of the contract and approval of the Contractor's Performance Bond, Saturday, Sundays and Holidays excepted. This contract is subject to the provisions of the New Jersey Local Public Contracts Law, N.J.S.A. 40A:11-1, et. seq. Bidders are required to comply with the requirements of N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et seq. and N.J.A.C. 17:27, Affirmative Action Regulations. This contract is subject to U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, Community Development Block Grant Program Regulations, and Federal Labor Standards Provisions. The right is reserved to reject any or all Proposals, in whole or in part, or to make awards to such bidder or bidders who, in the judgment of the Borough of Wanaque is the lowest responsible bidder and to waive such informalities as may be permitted by law. |
