Description

The City of Berkley would like to receive bids for the Library Parking Lot Project, which includes four (4) primary tasks as outlined below: 1. Asphalt Repair A. 1,000 square feet of 5” hot mix asphalt repair in several locations to be determined by contractor and library director 2. Crack Seal A. Blow clean all cracks with compressed air B. Seal cracks in asphalt pavement with hot poured rubber joint compound C. Overband any open previously sealed cracks 3. Sealcoat A. Power wash existing lot B. Work shall include oil/gas spot priming and grass/weed removal to promote adhesion of the sealcoat C. Surface must be free all debris and dry immediately preceding sealcoat application D. Sealcoat shall not be applied when ambient temperature is less than 55 degrees Fahrenheit or above 90 degrees Fahrenheit E. Sealcoat shall not be applied within 24 hours of forecasted rain or freezing temperatures F. Apply two (2) coats of skid resistant coal tar emulsion to entire parking lot G. Use of hand squeegee or brush application is to be restricted to places not accessible to the mechanized equipment or to accommodate neat trim work at curbs, etc. H. Coverage rates- First coat - 0.10-0.12 gallon of undiluted sealer/sq. yard and second Coat-0.06-0.08 gallon of undiluted sealer/sq. yard I. The final coat must be allowed to dry a minimum of eight hours of good daylight drying conditions before opening to traffic J. Sealcoat shall be uniform and free of lumps or other inconsistencies 4. Striping A. Pavement markings shall be reestablished in kind B. Four arrow symbols shall be painted to direct the one-way flow of traffic C. Measure and caulk new line locations for straight and crisp results D. Apply two (2) coats of 4” waterborne paint (yellow and blue) with glass reflective beads
