2022 Landscape Maintenance Contract

Requesting proposals from licensed landscaping contractors interested in providing landscape maintenance at various city owned properties and parks, during a 1-year contract with the City of Independence with a potential of four (4) one (1) year renewals. To provide the following weekly and/or as needed services due to seasonal dependency: 1. Mowing - every seven (7) days, or as weather permits to maintain a suitable height for the variety of grass and season to ensure a manicured appearance. 2. Edge - all plant beds, fences, sidewalks, driveways, tree rings, parking lots, playground boxes and other surfaced areas bordered by grass with each mow. 3. Trim/Prune - shrubs, bushes, and trees as well as trim weeds around lamp posts, fences to maintain a manicured appearance. 4. Weed control - broad weed spray once a year at all parks and weed spray flower beds and other areas when needed. 5. Blow/Leaf removal - walking paths and hard surfaces shall be free of debris after each mow; during leaf season all leaves will need to be removed and properly discarded. 1. Fertilization - grass areas shall be aerated, seeded, and fertilized in the fall and spring and as needed to ensure a healthy appearance. 2. Mulch/Bark Dust - a new layer of mulch or bark dust shall be added to areas during Spring. All mulched/bark dust areas shall be free of weeds and fluffed every month or when needed.
