Description | The work involved on the project will include, and is generally described as follows: 1. Raw Water Pump Stations: Two new raw water screens, all new raw water pumps, a new below grade valve vault, electrical building addition, and completely new electrical service to both the 1956 and 1973 raw pump stations. 2. Intermediate Booster Pump Station/Pre-treatment Building: Conversion of existing abandoned pump station into chemical addition building, with new roof, chemical pumps and dry carbon feeder. Installation of new residential well. Site improvements include new driveway and sidewalk. 3. Plant Building: Refurbish all existing laboratory and offices, add break room and bathrooms. Upgrade all filters except existing piping and valves, to include air scour and new interior walls. Relocate existing backwash pump and install a new backwash pump. Remove existing bulk tanks and chemical feed equipment. Refeed electrical equipment. 4. Sedimentation Basins: Add flocculation basin tip troughs, sludge monitoring and tube settlers to existing basins. Repair concrete walkway 5. New Finished Water/Chemical Feed Building– add 4 new finished water pumps and electrical room. Chemical feed pumps and day tanks for all plant chemicals, chlorine storage and chemical feed. Install new electrical service, new generator, and automatic transfer switch. 6. Chlorine Contact Tank – Approximately 250,000-gallon, baffled chlorine contact tank with outlet weir and chemical addition. 7. Finished Water Storage Tank – Approximately 1 million gallons. 8. New Bulk Chemical Facility - Add six new bulk tanks and containment structures, with bulk transfer pumps. Convert existing ammonia facility into corrosion inhibitor storage facility. 9. New Metal Above Ground Tanks: New 135,000-gallon filtrate tank and 430,000-gallon Residuals Holding Tank. 10. Sitework to include paving existing gravel driveway and utilities to support the water plant upgrades. |
