Description | The work involves removal and replacement of four (4) styrene butadiene rubber (SBR) speed doors. The awarded bidder shall remove, haul off, and appropriately dispose existing roll-up doors and framing. Additional work includes the replacement of the operational components to include the control units, electrical connections, and door guides. Required work is not necessarily limited to the bid items listed in the bid form. It is the intent of the drawings and specifications that the resulting improvements be fully completed and functional ready for operation. The cost of work not specifically identified by a bid item in the bid form shall be included as subsidiary to other bid items. The Kansas City Area Transportation Authority (KCATA) is a bi-state agency offering mass transit service within the greater Kansas City metropolitan area. KCATA is requesting that qualified contractors to provide bids for REPLACEMENT OF SERVICE LINE SPEED DOORS. The awarded contractor shall provide all equipment, tools, supplies, prevailing wage labor, supervision, insurance, warranties, and bonds to perform this work from inception to final acceptance by KCATA. KCATA, on behalf of its Maintenance Department, is soliciting for qualified bidders/contractors to respond to this Invitation for Bids to perform the work associated with REPLACEMENT OF SERVICE LINE SPEED DOORS. The existing doors are in motion all day as buses drive through the service line for cleaning and disinfecting. An increase in malfunctions necessitates this bid release. Bids received after the date/time specified above shall be considered late and shall not be opened or considered for award. Bidder must describe with brief written narrative and provide proof of proposed approved equal product to Kristene@kcata. org no later than August 30, 2023, by 12 noon consideration. KCATA's response to these submissions will be answered via Addendum. Bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope on the enclosed Bid Response Form along with all required submittal documents and must be clearly marked and addressed to Kristen Emmendorfer, Procurement Director 1350 East 17th Street, Kansas City, MO 64108. Bids may be dropped at Shipping and Receiving located at same address on KCATA complex up until the closing time stated in the Bid Schedule. Questions (technical, contractual, or administrative) must be directed in writing via email to Kristen Emmendorfer at kristene@kcata.org. Questions and requests for clarifications, including requests for approved equals, shall be communicated with this buyer of record. Within the IFB documents, any reference to brand name or manufacturer is for reference only and to assist the bidder in understanding minimum salient characteristics and performance of the product being bid. Approved equals may be submitted for consideration. |
