Description

SCOPE The work shall consist of the mobilization and demobilization of the Contractor's forces and equipment necessary for performing the work required under this contract. SCOPE OF WORK This work shall consist of furnishing all equipment, labor, supervision and material necessary to ensure that grading, construction and maintenance will be carried out to conform to the proposed reclamation plans designated hereafter. The proposed work will involve, at a minimum, but not limited to, the following: 1.1.1 The installation of sediment and erosion control measures to prevent on-site erosion and control off- site sedimentation. 1.1.2 The installation of sub-surface and surface drains, including clean-outs, around affected structure. 1.1.3 Construction of sub-drain to convey collected drainage to a roadside ditch. 1.1.4 Revegetation of approximately 4000 S.F. of disturbed areas within the work limits in accordance with these specifications. The Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE), Land and Materials Administration, Abandoned Mine Land Division (AMLD), is requesting Price Bids from qualified contractors to provide equipment, materials and manpower for the installation of surface and sub-surface drains to collect and transport mining effected water away from a home as shown and described in the contract drawings (Attachment C). The project is located in Lonaconing, Allegany County Maryland. The Contractor will be required to provide equipment, operators, labor and materials as needed to perform the following work: 1. Implement sediment and erosion control measures as required. 2. Site preparation with clearing and grubbing. 3. Excavation of trenches to the depths shown on the construction plans. 4. Installation of piping and cleanouts as shown on the construction plans. 5. Purchase and backfilling of trenches with non-calcareous stone to the depths and grades shown on the construction plans. 6. Revegetation of all disturbed areas. 7. All other work described in the construction plans and specifications. The Bennett Mine Drainage Abatement Project will collect and transport mining effected water seeping into a basement which has created a public health and safety issue. The project is located along Rockville Street in Lonaconing, Allegany County, Maryland. The project will address seepage adversely effecting a property located at 36 Rockville Street SW, Lonaconing Md. Reclamation will include the installation of approximately 200 L.F. of 6" perforated surface/sub-drains to collect the seepage and the installation of approximately 165 L.F. of 8" solid pipe to transport the collected seepage water to an existing roadside ditch. All lengths stated here are approximate and should be verified by the contractor. The site is a residential area, and all revegetation shall be grasses. The State of Maryland General Contractor's License is mandatory for all construction projects.
