Description | The scope of work consists of furnishing and installing approximately 3,485 linear feet of 8-inch PVC 900 of gravity sanitary sewer pipe; 90 laterals with cleanout; 16 reinforced concrete manholes; 9,786 linear feet of 12-inch zinc-coated ductile iron water main piping and fittings; 26 linear feet of 8-inch zinc-coated ductile iron pipe and fittings; 163 linear feet of 6-inch zinc-coated ductile iron pipe and fittings; 20 linear feet of 4-inch zinc-coated ductile iron pipe and fittings; resilient seated gate valves; fire hydrant assemblies with guard posts; removal of three (3) existing fire hydrants; furnishing and installing water services; making fourteen (14) tapping connections including installing tapping sleeves and valves; making six (6) solid connections to existing water mains including solid sleeves; removing 226 linear feet of existing gravity; removing two (2) existing sanitary sewer manholes; removing three (3) existing plugs and connecting to existing water mains including furnishing all fittings necessary for connections; furnishing and constructing flushing valve outlets; furnishing and constructing air release valve assemblies; polyethylene encasement for ductile iron pipe and fittings, if ordered by the Engineer; sheeting and shoring ordered left in place by the Engineer; additional suitable backfill, if needed; furnish all materials, equipment and supplies necessary for cleaning, testing and disinfecting the mains; removal of existing asphalt pavement and sod; removal, transport and legal disposal of demolition material including unsuitable material; placing existing water mains out of service upon completion of work; replacement of traffic loop detection assemblies; traffic control; temporary and permanent replacement of any sidewalk, sod, pavement markings, pavement and/or driveway damaged by construction and all other appurtenant and miscellaneous items and work for a complete and fully functional installation. Due to maintenance of traffic requirements in the FDOT roadway, night work is expected to be required by FDOT for lane closures. Regarding the need to reestablish the survey corridor prior to mobilization as indicated in the construction plans, the Contractor shall obtain the approval of survey baseline by Surveyor and the Engineer to ensure that the proposed improvements are installed within the public right-of-way per MDWASD standards to avoid encroaching into public property. Small Business Enterprise - Construction goal is 16.79%, Small Business Enterprise - Goods and Services goal is 6.12% which is based on the construction estimate plus the 10% Contingency Allowance.
