Description

COMMENCEMENT, PROSECUTION, AND COMPLETION OF WORK (APR 1984) The Contractor shall be required to (a) commence work under this contract within 10 calendar days after the date the Contractor receives the notice to proceed, (b) prosecute the work diligently, and (c) complete the entire work ready for use not later than .180 days* The time stated for completion shall include final cleanup of the premises. *The Contracting Officer shall specify either a number of days after the date the contractor receives the notice to proceed, or a calendar date Missouri River Project Office Exterior Envelope Replacement Solicitation Number W9128F22Q0053 August 5, 2022 DESCRIPTION/SPECIFICATIONS/SCOPE OF WORK 1. BACKGROUND: The Corps of Engineers has a requirement for replacement of the Missouri River Project Administration Building siding and damaged windows, and all gutters and downspouts. The building is a single-story that was originally constructed in 2005 and needs work due to buildings age, flood damage and insufficiently waterproofed siding. 2. SCOPE OF WORK: The work of this contract is to replace all the existing building envelope, soffits, all gutters, and downspouts and seven damaged windows at the Corps of Engineers Missouri River Project Administration Building. All work shall be completed 365 days after contract award. The work shall include CLIN 0001 (Base) Remove and replace existing exterior building envelope, work includes but not limited to: o Remove all existing cementitious siding, PVC trim, and all composite trim and soffits as required o Remove air barrier membrane o Inspect sheathing o Install new air barrier assembly, tapes, and sealants o Install all new cementitious siding, soffits and associated trim assemblies with new integrally colored cementitious siding and composite trim assemblies exact in kind to match existing. o Prefinished Z flashing to be installed along all horizontal cementitious siding board joints, and all other joints recommended by cementitious siding manufacturer (see detail 4/A-2) o Horizontal seams in the panel siding shall be flashed and sealed from behind the upper panel and over the lower panel as according to the manufacturer's recommendations (see detail 4/A-2) o All material joints receive new elastomeric sealant application in accordance with manufacturers recommendations - sealants shall match siding/trim color o Replace failing windowsills with composite material sills to match existing and provide proper slopes, flashings, drips, and sealants o Install shims at windowsills as detailed in the "For Information Only" as built drawings (see detail 3/A-6) to provide a slope for proper shedding of water o Install prefinished metal flashing for the windowsills and integrate into supporting construction o Apply new elastomeric sealant and flashings to all the windowsill joints as recommended by the siding manufacturer's details - sealant color shall match siding/trim color o Remove all failing window head trim assemblies o Replace failing window head trim assemblies with new composite head trim assemblies o Install prefinished drip flashing to all window head trim per "For Information Only" as built details (see detail 1/A-6) o Remove and replace all facia and soffit assemblies to match existing o Any existing cameras, lights, or security equipment assemblies impacted by any of these efforts are to be reinstalled in temporary locations within the same day as removal Remove and replace all gutters and downspouts to match existing in size and color o Locations of gutters and downspouts to remain the same as existing, aside from on the East Elevation where downspouts are to be relocated away from inner corners of building to ensure rain overflow will not damage new cementitious siding Remove and replace 7 existing window assemblies showing a significant amount of degradation (see sheets A-1 and A-2 for locations), window sizes shown in the "For Information Only" as built schedule o Install new windows to exact match of all the characteristics of the existing windows. See 6.2 for specified characteristics o Seal and caulk with suitable sealant recommended by the window manufacturer o Trim out the exterior and interior windows to match existing o Clean newly installed windows, and install insect screens o Repair any damage sustained to the interior finishes during installation to match original conditions CLIN 0002: After inspection of sheathing, prior to installing new air barrier assembly, replace any damaged sheathing due to water damage or as a result of the removal of the cementitious siding, trim and windows.
