Marine Park Community Gardens

The City of Santa Monica proposes to construct raised-bed Community Gardens in the southwest corner of Marine Park, adjacent to the southernmost tennis court, located at 1406 Marine Street. The project scope includes excavation of 4,555 SF of existing sod and soil at a depth of 8, installation of in-ground PVC pipe connected to the existing potable water source at the existing drinking fountain to new hose bibb locations, installation of new 4 stabilized decomposed granite ground surface with a 4 90% compaction aggregate base, installation of new 6 tall vinyl coated chain link fence on the north and west perimeter of the Community Garden, modular raised planter beds within the enclosed fenced area, installation of new hose bibbs, a new storage shed, compost bin, trash receptacle, and picnic tables creating a seating area for community leisure and educational programming.
