E-44 Hilltop Needmore Elementary School - Early Procurement Package

The school is designed to accommodate 56 teaching spaces with a core capacity of 800 students and serve students Pre-K through 5th grade. The program calls for a building of approximately 132,346 gross square feet. The design emphasizes an immersive learning scape where the building and site work in conjunction to establish an environment for active and engaged learning. The school nestles into the landscape on the southern portion of the site with the classroom wings aligned along the east-west axis and play fields to the south. The grade levels are organized into three bars that extend into the landscape, creating learning courtyards adjacent to the classrooms, in addition to outdoor play spaces. Access to the school is from Hilltop Needmore Road. The main drive meanders along the east portion of the site, with bus and service access coming from the northwest corner of the site. The drop-off employs triple stacking to achieve the required 1,500 linear feet. The building will be steel framed. Exterior veneer materials include brick and ACM panels. Back-up walls are either metal studs with mineral wool and gypsum drywall or CMU at the dining/play area.
