Conestoga Pines Connection

This project involves the rehabilitation of an existing vehicular bridge for reuse as a pedestrian and bicyclist bridge over the Conestoga River to provide a connection between the Conestoga Pines Park and the Walnut Street Fishing Area within the City of Lancaster. The proposed structure is the existing Waterworks Bridge. The 204’ long, three-span, steel thru-girder bridge was originally constructed in 1912 and its center span was rebuilt in 1973 after flooding event. The bridge is designed for combined pedestrian/bicycle use and will remain posted at 3 tons.
