Description | FY22/23 Project Description One of the City's wells has experienced a reduction in its pumping rate. Therefore, it will be necessary to drill a new well earlier than previously anticipated in the CIP budget, and funds have been moved up approximately three years to start the process of designing a new well and determining the appropriate new location for the well. The cost for drilling this new well are included in the Water & Sewer Capacity budget as it is necessary to add this well to accommodate community growth as well as fix an existing issue with the City's water system related to reduced pumping rates. Funds in FY22/23 are requested to work with an engineering consultant on a new well design and on selecting the most beneficial and appropriate location for the new well. FY23/24 Project Description Funds in the amount of $1,750,000 are requested in FY23/24 to complete project construction, which includes activities such as drilling a new well, installing pump equipment, and providing electrical power. If drilling the new well in close proximity to an existing well is not feasible, costs would increase due to the need to build a pipeline from the well to the nearest treatment facility. As of July 25, 2022, this project is included in the City of Woodstock's FY 2022-2032 Budget CIP and funding for construction is allocated for FY 23/24. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change. The content management team will continue to pursue additional details as they become available. |
